The Institute for Emotionally Intelligent Learning is an organization designed to provide programming, training and resource development for schools, corporations, and other groups on the subjects of therapeutic humor and social-emotional learning (SEL). The mission of the Institute is to develop social and emotional skills, increasing the likelihood of success and satisfaction at school, work, and home. Representatives of the Institute are available for speaking engagements, training sessions, and seminars.
The Institute's founder, Dr. Ed Dunkelblau, PhD., was recently selected as a primary speaker by the US Department of Defense's Yellow Ribbon Program (www.yellowribbon.mil). This honor is conferred on a select group of speakers whose talents assist members of our armed forces and their families in dealing with the challenges of military service.

Applications of Therapeutic Humor
Laughter heals. This type of therapeutic humor is any intervention that promotes health and wellness by stimulating a playful discovery, expression, or appreciation of the absurdity or incongruity of life's situations. This intervention may enhance work performance, support learning, improve health, or be used as a complementary treatment of illness to facilitate healing or coping, whether physical, emotional, cognitive, social, or spiritual.
